November 2008

Intro

It’s Thanksgiving holiday again, which for me usually does not mean a few days off eating great food and spending time with family and friends.  What it does mean, however, is I get two extra holiday days off to go somewhere new (and eat great food there instead)!

This year, it’s time for a little rest and relaxation in México’s Yucatán peninsula (yes, including Cancún!), followed by a few fun days exploring

Chichén Itzá, Yucatán, México

Chichén Itzá, which became one of the official “New 7 Wonders of the World” on July 7, 2007, is dominated by the Temple of Kukulcan, more commonly referred to as “El Castillo”. This UNESCO World Heritage Site’s only drawback is its proximity to Cancún, attracting throngs of usually hungover day-tripping tourists. (I may or may not have been one of them).
